Length and setup
Follow these steps to set your ideal skipping-rope length.
Step 1: Measure your rope
Stand upright with one foot in the centre of the rope, as shown in the sizing guide.
Step 2: Find the correct height
Pull both cable ends up along your body until they reach just below your armpits, around chest height. Measure the cable only; do not include the handles.
| Height (cm) | Rope length (cm) |
|---|---|
| 140 | 230 |
| 150 | 250 |
| 160 | 260 |
| 165 | 265 |
| 170 | 270 |
| 175 | 275 |
| 180 | 280 |
| 185 | 285 |
| 190 | 290 |
| 195 | 295 |
Step 3: Cut the cable to length
Trim the cable that extends above your armpits. Cut a little at a time: you can always shorten it again, but you cannot make it longer. If you already have suitable tools or strong scissors that can cut the cable cleanly, you can use those. Otherwise, Sweatrope Cable Cutter Pliers are available separately. The handles do not count when you determine cable length.
Step 4: Reattach the end fittings
Use the supplied Allen key to loosen the screws in the fitting on the offcut. Slide the fitting onto the newly shortened end and tighten the screws securely. Check that everything is firmly attached before you begin skipping.
Changing cables
- Pull back the metal collar at the end of the handle.
- Insert the cable's metal connector into the opening.
- Release the collar. When it clicks into place, the cable is secure.
Note: The quick-change collar may feel slightly stiff at first. This is normal and it will move more smoothly after a few uses.
